Domestic chores will no longer be a burden thanks to the inventions of labour -saving devices.

I. AIMS AND OBJECTIVES:

	- To help Ss develop reading skill.
	- To help	 Ss read and understand a passage about life in the future.	
+ Language function:
- To develop Ss’ reading abilities and enable Ss to talk about life in the future.
- Express their ideas about advantages and disadvantages of robots.
+ Educational aim:
- To educate Ss to be aware of our present life and plan our life in the future.
1. Language:

2. Skills: Reading, Speaking, Writing
3. Educational factor: - Educate Ss to know how to plan their future life..
II. TEACHER AND STUDENTS’ PREPARATION:
1. Method: Communicative approach 
2. Techniques: Scanning, Skimming, Repetition, Pairwork, Asking and answering, Translation
3. Materials needed : Textbook, pictures, handouts
4. Students’ preparation: Read the passage, look up new words and do the Tasks in advance.
5. Previous exercises:

1. Stabilization: (2’)
 Warm up : Greeting
 Checking absence : Who’s absent today ?
2. Checking up previous knowledge: No (checks while teaching)

I. Pre – reading:
- Shows two pictures of the past and the present.
- Asks Ss to look at the pictures, discuss in groups and answer the questions.
+ What was the life in the past like?
+ What was the life at our present like?
(focus: travel, roads, houses, education, living condition…)
à Do you think life will be better in the future? Why / Why not?
 Asks Ss to list three things that might happen in the future.
Leads to the lesson. 
II. While reading:
1. Task 1: 
- Asks Ss to read the passage silently, stop when they meet a new word or a phrase and find words or phrases in the passage which have the following meaning given in the Task 1.
- Gives feedback.
2. Task 2: Answer the questions
- Asks Ss to read the passage silently and answer the questions individually
- Asks Ss to work in pairs to compare their answers. 
 - Calls on some Ss to write the answers on the board. 
- Checks with the class.
- Gives feedback.
3. Task 3: 
- Asks Ss to work in groups to discuss then complete the chart about LIFE IN THE FUTURE
III. Post – reading:
* Advantages and disadvantages of robots
- Asks Ss some questions: 
+ Have you ever seen a robot?
- Shows the picture of robot or toy robot.
- Asks Ss to work in groups and discuss the advantages and disadvantages of robots.
- Gives comments.
IV. Consolidation:
- Asks Ss to say about the main ideas of the reading passage.
- Look at the pictures and discuss in groups and answer the questions.
- Answer the T’s question
- Listen to the T.
- Read the passage and do task 1
- Read the passage again and answer the questions in task 2
- Individual work then pairwork.
- Write the answers on the board.

- Say about the main ideas of the reading passage.

- Save labor, lighten our work.
- Do difficult / hard jobs co that men have more time to enjoy life or do more creative work.
- Replace human being in many fields so many people will lose their jobs or go jobless.
- People become more independent on robots we can’t work properly when the power is off or when robots stop working.
IV. Homework:
- Write a short paragraph about the advantages and disadvantages of robots.

- write a short paragraph about the advantages and disadvantages of robots.
