- T asks ss to listen to the passage and decide T/F

- T plays the tape one or two more times and pauses at the answer for them to catch the information.

1. In a speech to the press, US President Kennedy asked the nation to put a man on the moon.

2. There were 11 astronauts on board the spacecraft to the moon.

3. The astronauts landed on the moon's surface at the same time.

4. To walk on the moon, the astronauts had to carry a suitcase with oxygen in it.

5. An American flag was placed on the moon's surface after the moon landing.

I. OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, ss will be able to listen for specific information and talk about the first human moon landing

- T asks ss to work in pair to answer the questions
1. Can you name the first men to set foot on the moon? 
2. What are their nationalities?
3. When did they set foot on the moon?
- T listens and corrects the answers.
- T leads into the lesson
II. PRE-LISTENING 
* Pre teach vocabulary: 
- T elicits and presents new words by situation and examples , then odels and writes on the board.

- T gets ss to work in groups of 4 to choose and talk about one of the topic
1. If you knew you had only one more week to live on Earth because you would go to the moon and stayed there forever, what would you do on those 7 days?
2. If you had a chance to go to the moon and could take only 3 things with you, what would you choose and why?
- T goes around checking and offers help
- T calls on the groups to present their ideas and other groups to add some more ideas
- T gives the feedback
V. HOMEWORK
- T asks ss to learn vocabulary, and prepare the next lesson.
- Work in pairs.
- Answer the questions.
